Percept™ is designed to work seamlessly from under the mattress. There is no need to turn it on or off or take it out. The app will automatically connect to the sensor every night once you connect your phone to the power, for a seamless tracking experience.

Open the app to see your cycle predictions as well as additional readings and analysis.
We’ve designed Percept to be less than 0.5” thick so when placed under your mattress you would hardly notice it is there.
Forget about all the hassle - there is no need to turn Percept on/off! Once you have set up Percept to link with the app, all you need is to have your phone connected to the power in proximity to the sensor when you go to bed at night and it will automatically set for tracking. When you wake up in the morning there is no need for Percept to be turned off, you can simply continue with your day as usual.

Open the app to see your cycle predictions as well as additional readings and analysis.
Percept™ measures your heart and breathing rates, heart rate variability, stress level, sleep cycles and analyzes those signals to a find a pattern that corresponds with your ovulation and menses cycle. Percept then analyzes this data to predict when you're going to ovulate next, and suggest the most fertile time to have intercourse to increase your chance to conceive successfully (as a total of 6-day fertile window).
No. While Percept™ is clinically proven to accurately predict your ovulation and fertile window, its intended use is as an aid for conception and is not intended for contraceptive use.
Use of medications such as hormones and/or hormonal IUDs or any irregular hormonal profile might affect Percept’s performance accuracy.
Placing Percept™ under your mattress means less chances of it being damaged. Having said that, Percept is made of a durable hard Polycarbonate which is resistant to dents or scratches.
Yes. The app will always display your cycle and readings data based on your local time zone setting. All sensor recordings are logged in Universal Time meaning it will not be affected by time zone shifts. We encourage you to continuously use Percept wherever you are. As you use it more it will learn more that results will be more accurate .
Percept™ captures your heart, breathing and movement signals by the highly sensitive and accurate sensor and send them to the app. The information is then sent to our secured cloud for analysis and back to the app so you can get your cycle predictions as well as relaxation level and sleep analysis each and every day.
Percept sensor relies on continuous Bluetooth connectivity with your phone during your sleep to properly track your body signals. If your phone is not around, no data will be captured and Percept’s accuracy may be reduced.
Please be sure to keep your phone's Bluetooth turned on when Percept is tracking you. In case Bluetooth connectivity is lost between your phone and sensor during tracking, the data cannot be restored and Percept's data quality will be reduced.
Percept is the world’s first contact free fertility tracker which monitors your own personal body signals to provide a 6-day fertile window prediction, in a way that no app only solutions can offer.
Furthermore, Percept is an FDA registeredmedical device which was clinically tested and proven to accurately predict ovulation.
Currently Percept is available for purchase within the US only.
EarlySense® Percept™ has been designed to accurately measure you even if your partner sleeps next to you. Be sure to place the sensor under the mattress on your side of the bed so you'll sleep directly above the sensor. Use the sensor placement instructions in the user guide to correctly position the sensor for optimal use.

In case someone other than you sleeps over the sensor when tracked with the app (such as children or large pets), they can affect the measurements. Therefore it is adviseable that you will be the only one directly above the sensor while being tracked by the app.
No. EarlySense® Percept™ requires connection to the power supply. The sensor does not have a battery. In order to ensure measurements, please verify that the sensor is safely connected to the power outlet. On the monitor, a green LED indication light will turn on to indicate power
The sensor and mobile app are easily linked using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). A blue LED indication light on the sensor will turn on to show the sensor and app are connected. In the app, the Sleep Monitoring screen will display a green checkmark beside “Sensor Connected” when the sensor and app are successfully linked. Percept™ will only record data if your mobile device is within Bluetooth range of the sensor.
The EarlySense®Percept™ measures a combination of three motion signals: gross body movement, chest wall motion, and the tiniest recoil of the body with every heartbeat. Proprietary and sophisticated signal processing algorithms are used to separate the signal into its components and calculate three parameters: heart rate, respiration rate, and movement. The values of these vital signs together with their instantaneous variability are further used to calculate sleep stages, awakenings, and your sleep score.
The box includes the EarlySense® Live™ Health Monitor ,a power supply, Quick Setup Guide, User Guide and a Limited Warranty.

There is no limitation to the number of devices that can be used with the same account. You can use multiple devices; however, only one device can be connected to a sensor at a time. Two, separate accounts are required if you are using the Live™+Smartshare application to view a loved one’s wellness data. One account will be for you to use Live™+Smartshare on your device and a second, different account must be registered for your loved one who is sleeping on the EarlySense® Live™ monitor.

No, only one sensor can be linked to each user account at a time. In case a new sensor is linked to an existing user’s account, the previous (old) sensor will no longer be connected to the user. If a sensor was previously associated with another user account, the new user will not have access to the previous user’s historical data. Sensed and recorded data is only available in a user’s app and is only associated with the registered account username and password. The sensor does not save any personal data.
EarlySense® Live™ works under most mattresses up to 20 inches (50.8 cm) thick and bed configurations. If you have a mattress and box spring, place the sensor between the top mattress and box spring. If you have a single mattress on top of slats, place the sensor such that it is resting securely on top of a slat. If your slats are much narrower than the sensor and the sensor is not stable, place a thin supporting board between the sensor and the slats. EarlySense® Live™ is not compatible with air or gel mattresses or waterbeds. Mechanical vibrations such as from a massager will interfere with the monitor's sensing capability. Furthermore, for optimal results you should not be in direct contact with the sensor. A mattress, mattress pad, or mattress cover should always be placed as a barrier between you and the device. Live’s special algorithms and unique sensor technology enable it to be used in a double bed or larger, as long as the instructions for sensor placement are followed. For additional information on sensor placement, please check the FAQs or the User Guide. Still not sure your bed and mattress is compatible? Send us a message at Csdigital-health@earlysense.com and we’ll help you out!
Absolutely! EarlySense® Live™ accurately tracks one person while two people are in bed. If both you and your partner want to be tracked, two sensors are required. A single sensor will only connect to one mobile device at a time. The sensing range is 16 inches (40 cm) from the sensor. To help Live differentiate between two people in bed, the sensor should be placed under the bed mattress according to the User Guide instructions.
Here are some tips on how to get the best sensing and accuracy from EarlySense® Live™:
  • Always place the monitor such, that the power cord faces outward toward the nearest edge of your bed, parallel to the headboard

  • If you share the bed, position the sensor such that the logo is facing up and the sensor is below your outside shoulder

  • If you are sleeping alone, position the sensor at shoulder level, in the middle of your back, in the area that you are most likely to sleep

  • EarlySense® Live™ has been designed to accurately measure the person directly above the sensor. Thus, if someone other than you sleeps over the sensor such as children or a pet, they can be monitored. This can impact your historical results.
EarlySense® Live™ has been designed to accurately measure the person directly above the sensor. Thus, if someone other than you sleeps over the sensor such as children or a pet, they can be monitored. This can impact your historical results. Ensure the sensor is properly placed to minimize detection of another person in bed. To help EarlySense® Live™ Monitor differentiate between two people in bed, the sensor should be placed under the bed mattress according to the User Guide instructions.
No. EarlySense® Live™ requires connection to the power supply. The sensor does not have a battery. In order to ensure measurements, please verify that the sensor is safely connected to the power outlet. On the monitor, a green LED indication light will turn on to indicate power
EarlySense® Live™ is highly accurate and will record you as long as it senses you are in bed. The sensing range is 16 inches (40 cm) from the sensor. If you have a big bed or you tend to roll during the night, you may get many out of bed/awakenings.
To improve your readings, try to place the sensor in the region you spend the most time and at your shoulder level. You can experiment with the sensor’s placement by watching the Sleep Monitoring screen’s heart and breathing rate values. When there is a good signal, the heart and lung symbols will be brightly colored and beating. If you move out of range of the sensor, you will see the heart and lung symbols will become grayed out and stop beating. This means the sensor has lost your signal. Each morning, look for out of bed periods in the sleep stages graph. If you see several out of bed sessions, but you know you were in bed, try moving the sensor. After a few nights you should be able to learn where you frequently sleep and minimize these inaccuracies. Please consult the User Guide for more information on how to position the sensor.
No,EarlySense® Live™ will not disrupt your partner’s or your own sleep. EarlySense® Live™ is completely non-contact, passive and silent. Since the sensor is placed under the bed mattress, neither you nor your partner will feel a thing while you are in bed. Live™ silently transmits data to your mobile device via Bluetooth, so you won’t hear anything either. Regardless of how heavy or light you may sleep, be confident Live™ will not interrupt your nightly routine or sleep!
To use the sensor, ensure it is plugged into a power supply and the green LED indicator light is on. Then pair the sensor with your Bluetooth enabled phone or tablet after downloading the free EarlySense® Live™ mobile app. A blue LED indicator light will turn on indicating successful Bluetooth pairing. There is no battery in the EarlySense® Live™ sensor.
EarlySense® Live™ will send you alerts if your heart or breathing rate exceeds a predetermined threshold for at least 15 minutes. The default heart rate value is set at 125 BPM (beats per minutes) and the default breathing rate is set at 30 Br/Min. If you are unsure of what rate to set these alerts, we recommend using our default values, but you can always change the thresholds in the app settings.
No, EarlySense® Live™ works by connecting with your phone’s Bluetooth. Your phone must remain on while LIVE is tracking your health data. You may notice your phone’s battery will drain or run out of power while using EarlySense® Live™ for extended time periods such as during sleep. We highly recommend charging your phone while the app is in use to ensure continuous measurements. If your phone is off, no data will be collected.
Your phone needs to remain within the sensor’s Bluetooth connectivity range. Bluetooth connectivity is essential for recording data from Live™ . If Bluetooth connectivity is lost or not active on your smartphone, data cannot be tracked and you will not receive a daily sleep summary. Bluetooth’s maximum range is about 30ft (10 m) from the sensor, however, we recommend the phone be placed within up to 15ft (5m) from the bed. If you want to keep your phone in a different room, please check the app to ensure the sensor is connected before going to sleep. In the Live™ app, you will see a green checkmark beside “Sensor Connected” on the Sleep Monitoring screen, and the sensor’s blue connectivity indication light will be lit on the sensor, if the sensor is connected and ready to track.
No! EarlySense® Live™ uses a very small and thin disk that is placed underneath your top mattress. You won’t feel a thing as you get a good night’s rest.
EarlySense® Live™ has undergone extensive clinical evaluation in the sleep lab and home environment to validate the system’s vital sign and sleep tracking capabilities. Live demonstrates greater than 95% accuracy in detecting heart and breathing rates and around 90% accuracy in several sleep quality measures, when compared to the clinical gold standards. Furthermore, Live is based on EarlySense’s hospital technology. At EarlySense, we are dedicated to offering highly accurate devices you can count on. EarlySense® Live™ can reliably measure heart rate values from 30 to 200 BPM (beats per minute) and respiratory breathing rate values ranging from 6 to 65 Br./min (breaths per minute).
Live™ will only record data if your mobile device is within Bluetooth range of the sensor.
The EarlySense® Live™ measures a combination of three motion signals: gross body movement, chest wall motion, and the tiniest recoil of the body with every heartbeat. Proprietary and sophisticated signal processing algorithms are used to separate the signal into its components and calculate three parameters: heart rate, respiration rate, and movement. The values of these vital signs together with their instantaneous variability are further used to calculate sleep stages, awakenings, and your sleep score.
Your daily sleep score is an indication of your sleep quality. You can use it to compare your sleep night after night and then try to improve it using your daily sleep tips. Your sleep score is calculated based on seven different parameters:

    • Total sleep time

    • Sleep efficiency (ratio between your total sleep time and the total time you spent in bed)

    • Time it took you to fall asleep

    • Number of times you woke up during the night

    • Number of times you exited the bed

    • Amount of time you spent in deep sleep

    • Percentage of time you spent in REM sleep (REM sleep is the part of the sleep which is characterized by dreaming)

So how do you know if your sleep score is good or not? The best way to determine if your score is “good” or “bad” is to compare it to your previous night’s scores. In this way, you can create your own personal baseline. For example, if you’re used to receiving sleep scores around 70, and today you got an 80, you will likely feel your sleep last night was better and you probably feel more refreshed compared to other days.
The score index is a general index based on different age groups. You may also use it to help you understand how your score is compared to others in your age group.
Sleep efficiency is the ratio between the total time you spent in bed and the amount of time you were actually asleep. It is a good indicator of your sleep quality. The higher your number, the better, but in general, a sleep efficiency of 85% or greater is consider good. Really good sleep efficiency is above 90%. With Live you will learn your nightly sleep quality with your sleep score and sleep efficiency.
Stress is your body’s reaction to events, thoughts, or emotions. Based on clinical research, Live is measuring your stress levels using one of the most reliable indicators of stress - the heart rate variability (HRV). HRV is the variation in the time interval between one heartbeat and the next. Generally, the more flexible we are, the more capable we are of dealing with life’s inevitable stressors. This flexibility is reflected in our nervous system and can be measured, using HRV as an indicator. Since Live is measuring your heart rate, it also analyzes your heart rate variability and thus can indicate your stress levels during your sleep.

You will find three different graphs in the EarlySense® Live™ app:
    - Sleep Stages: The sleep stages graph, also called a hypnogram, shows your sleep stages throughout the night. This graph helps you visualize your sleep cycles and know whether you were in deep, light or REM sleep or if you were awake or out of the bed at every minute during the night.
    - Movement: The movement graph shows your movement density throughout the night. It is very useful for differentiating times when you were very active from times with little or no motion.
    - Heart Rate: The heart rate graph shows your continuous heart rate trend throughout the night.
    - Respiratory Rate: The respiration rate graph shows your continuous respiratory rate trend throughout the night.

Using these four graphs, you can better understand the correlation between your vital signs, movement, and sleep stages.
Each morning you will wake up to a complete wellness and sleep summary displayed on the Sleep Summary screen. You will see a multi-colored half circle around your sleep score and your nightly average heart rate, breathing rate, and stress level. If you had more than one sleep session during the day, you can tap on the green sessions to view different sleep session times. To learn more about your sleep stats, swipe left on your average heart or breathing rate values. In this panel, you will learn how your sleep score was calculated and the amount of time you spent in each of the sleep score parameters. Each sleep score parameter is associated with a color in the half circle. The amount of the half circle that is filled indicates how much this parameter contributed to your sleep score. For example, if you slept more than the minimum recommended sleep time of 7 hours, your dark blue track will be full indicating you received the maximum contribution amount for your sleep score calculation. Scroll down the Sleep Summary screen to view your sleep stages, or hypnogram, graph to learn more about your sleep stages throughout the night. Continue to scroll down the Sleep Summary screen to view the continuous heart rate and breathing rate graphs.
The Smart Wake-Up is a smart alarm clock that wakes you up at the optimal point in your sleep cycle, within a preset range of time.Using Smart Wake-Up can help you avoid waking up from very deep sleep and feeling groggy all day long. Instead, Smart Wake-Up will help you wake feeling refreshed and ready to start your day.
    A few important notes:

    • The Fresh Wake algorithm will search for the best estimated time to wake you up within your selected time frame. However, if no such point is found and the limit of this timewindow has been reached, it will still alarm, functioning almost as a regular alarm clock.

    • If you are out of bed before the Fresh Wake window starts, the alarm will not sound.

    • Ensure you set the time range such that the end of the range is when you want to wake up.

    • If you set the time range 0 minutes, the Fresh Wake alarm clock will function as a regular alarm clock, waking you up at the exact time which you set.

    • Using the Fresh Wake function requires an active network connection. If no Internet connection is available, then the Smart Wake-Up alarm will act as a standard alarm, and will go off at the end of your defined range, regardless of your sleep stage

There are two configurable options for the Smart Wake-Up alarm clock.
Smart Snooze : Similar to a regular snooze mode, the smart snooze option allows you to snooze in five minute increments when you tap on “snooze” to silence the a ringing alarm. Since this is a “smart snooze” there are two conditions which may change the alarm’s behavior.

    • You fell back into deep sleep. To ensure you maintain your refreshed feeling, the alarm may not ring after exactly five minutes have passed. Instead, the Smart Wake-Up algorithm will be looking for the next optimal opportunity to wake you up within the original time window you defined in your Smart Wake-Up settings. If you are snoozing past your preset time window, the snooze will only last five minutes.

    • You are already out of bed. The alarm will not ring if you are already out of bed. Thus, you will prevent the nuisance of hearing alarms when you are already out of bed and possibly preventing unnecessary interruption to your partner’s sleep.

Continuous alarm : If you have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning or you keep hitting the snooze button, you may want to choose the persistent snooze option. Once the continuous alarm Smart Wake-Up alarm starts ringing, you will not be able to stop the alarm clock unless you get out of bed. Tricking the system won’t work here either! If you get back into bed within 10 minutes since the time you got up, the ringing will start again.
On some mornings, you may wake to a notification message. These notifications indicate that a significant change has been detected in one of the parameters that Live™ continuously tracks. You can use these notifications to learn about changes in your health or how your behaviors impact your sleep. For example, complete the diary each night to see if caffeine, alcohol, food, exercise, or your mood decrease or increase your sleep score the next day. Notifications are provided for sleep tracking, heart rate, and breathing rate. You will be able to read the entire notification message if you tap on the info button displayed as an “i” near the associated parameter.

Here you can select the most appropriate level of heart and breathing rate for you. To enable the notifications, you must save your defined settings.
The out of bed notification is an alert that works by first setting a time range for when a user is normally in bed. If the user exits the bed during this defined time range, and does not return within 25 minutes, a push notification will be sent.
Please note that the alerts are provided as a push notification.
